Dill

Latin Name : Anethum graveolens. Dill is said to have come from the Anglo-Saxon. It also grows wild in North America and South America and in the Mediterranean. Used by Egyptian doctors as far back as 5000 years ago. In the Middle ages it was an important ingredient for medicinal purposes, the treatment of headaches and coughs and in soothing infants. Dill water or gripe water obviously still in use today.
